Funen's local winner of Ernst & Young's competition "Entrepreneur of The Year" was Kjaerulff 1 A/S from Odense. Ernst & Young explains: "Managing Director Karsten Kjærulff is the prototype of an entrepreneur. When he took over the company at the age of 22 it had 6 employees - today Kjaerulff 1 A/S is a top modern international company with more than 150 employees".

Today, Kjaerulff 1 A/S is a complete supplier of signal reception equipment for satellite, cable, terrestrial and IP platforms all over Europe.  The company develops and markets equipment and accessories for the transmission, processing and reception of video, audio and data signals, for the direct to home (DTH) segment as well as for the professional segment. Kjaerulff 1 A/S also distributes a range of well-known and well-established audio/video/home cinema brands. For example, as sole distributor of the German premium home cinema brand Loewe in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. The head office is in Odense and the company has sales companies in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Poland as well as a representative office in China.
